The choreography for “White with Some Color” was originally inspired by Stephanie Griffin’s recording of her multi-tracked viola arrangement of Tony Prabowo's choral work Doa Persembunyian (A Prayer for Refuge) and Magritte’s painting “The Lovers”. For the WiredArts Fest, seven violists performed the arrangement live and be integrated into the existing choreography of the piece. The choreography uses minimal movement, an altered sense of time and a costume that connects the performers, displaying the effect an individual’s actions can have on a group and the marks that remain when the connection is cut. The total work is 16 minutes in length.

Me and Not Me is the result of a two-year process of investigation and development reflecting Stronach’s curiosity about personal boundaries and how our sense of self can shift to include or exclude loved ones, memories, and objects. Crafted with delicacy, ruggedness, and humor, the piece cycles through moments of detachment and bonding on a stage strewn with crushed flowers. The video below is of the live-streamed performance from February 22nd 2013.
In Berries and Bulls, four people vibrating on different frequencies try to connect. They misread signals; push touching to extremes; and taunt each other into playing physically risky games. The stakes are high for these relationships to fail. But, by tipping reality on its side -- with a few personal and fantastical stories -- the performers find an entry point for communicating and questioning: How much can we rely on others? How will we endure together over time? Peter Petralia (Dramaturge), Kay Cummings (Advisor), and four performers (Jeffrey Duval, Kevin Ho, Emily Pope-Blackman and Petra van Noort) join choreographer Tiffany Mills to examine interpersonal relationships. For the WiredArts Fest, an excerpt from a mid-section of Berries and Bulls will be shown by Ho and Pope-Blackman.) Catch Berries and Bulls as an evening length work at BAM Fisher May 30-June 2, 2013.
